Marcin Cela

Marcin Cela is a Polish technical diver specializing in underwater photogrammetry and 3D documentation. He combines his diving experience with 3D technologies to create detailed digital models of submerged objects, wrecks, and environments. One of his long-term goals is to scan an overhead environment one day.

From Photogrammetry to 3D Marcin's journey into underwater 3D began with photogrammetry. As his understanding of the technology developed, he discovered the work of Marcin Stempniewicz and the possibilities of presenting photogrammetric data through interactive 3D visualization. This led him to reach out to Marcin and explore new ways of combining photogrammetry with 3D presentation and visualization.

Digital Models & Preservation Marcin's work goes beyond creating 3D models. His photogrammetric reconstructions can be used for interactive visualization, documentation, education, and 3D printing, providing new ways to present underwater objects and sites without requiring direct access to them.

Marcin occasionally collaborates with GUE (Global Underwater Explorers) on Baltic Sea shipwreck projects, working with 3D data to develop digital reconstructions and visualizations of historic wrecks.
